Complete the Journey of Flight 93
5 Core Riders, 8 Days, 40 Heroes
In 2009, Family and Friends of Louis Joseph Nacke II (Joey) will embark on an incredible mission to journey by motorcycle and deliver the extraordinary message of Remembrance, Patriotism, and Honor for the passengers and crew members of United Flight 93.
As kids, Joey, Patrick, David, Dale and I always set out on missions of adventure and discovery no matter where we were or how far apart we lived. We explored and experienced the many wonders of what was before us in the north and east of our country. All the while learning the strength and unity of being part of an extended family.
The desire for seeing what our country had to offer followed us as we entered adulthood. Being residents of the east coast, we always dreamed about traveling west together to see and experience everything our land has to offer. However on September 11, 2001 this dream vanished for us and Joey, along with the unfulfilled dreams of 39 others and their surviving families.
On September 3, 2009, 5 Core Riders, to be joined by hundreds of others as we make our way westward will “Complete the Journey of Flight 93!” We will start by leaving Newark International Airport at 8:42am, the actual departure location and time of United Flight 93. We will point our motorcycles west and ride every mile across this great country and arrive at San Francisco International Airport on September 11, on or near the schedule arrival time of United Flight 93. We know this is not going to be an easy Journey, but to us, we know that Joey and the other 39 passengers and crew will be riding right along with us. So we will be “Riding With the FORTY”. You can join us and them by becoming part of this Journey.
Like many proud Americans, we have great respect and gratitude for the men and women of United Flight 93. That's why we our setting out on this tremendous Journey in the Hope of Honoring and Remembering the men and women of United Flight 93 by raising awareness and funds for The Flight 93 National Memorial.
Can you imagine what our country would look like today, if the “FORTY” had not taken action and United Flight 93had reached its target of the U.S. Capitol or White House?
Our GOALS for this Ride are:
- To raise $250,000 for the Flight 93 National Memorial (100% of all donations will go directly to building the Memorial.
- To promote awareness of the heroic actions and character of the Heroes of United Flight 93 to young Americans born after September 11, 2001, and to refresh the memories of older Americans of the courage and brave actions of the passengers and crew of United Flight 93.
- To bring the Flight 93 National Memorial to Americans who are unable to visit the Temporary Memorial in Shanksville, Pa., by bringing a portion of the Temporary Memorial to you. This will allow so many more Americans to leave messages and tributes as they do at the present Temporary Memorial that will then be included in the permanent Memorial once dedicated, with your help, on September 11, 2011.
This is our way of thanking the Heroes of United Flight 93 for saving countless American lives and preventing a greater tragedy, while at the cost of their own lives. And it's our way of saying NO to terrorists and tyranny, and that we will not bow to tyranny, but rather cheer and join with those who would stand up against terrorists.
Please take a moment and join us as we “Ride with the FORTY” and “Complete the Journey of Flight 93.”
